FREE WILL

This piece is inpired by the Umbrella Revolution that happened in Hong Kong in 2014. Students demanded that the Chinese government not interfere with their elections.

Hong Kongese people wish to have sovereignty in choosing a leader for their administrative region. However, in order to maintain control over the region, the Chinese government pushes their preferred candidates into the electoral process. So no matter who won the election, China still has power over the HK government. This effectively nullifies the results of regional elections.

The poster demonstrates that bureaucratic forces can never limit an individual's free will without facing resistance.

The letters were stenciled out using a hydrophobic spray, and filled balloons with dyed water were thrown at the paper to symbolize violence forces brought forth by the bureaucracy.
